  • ITALFOG offers a range of products, including misting pumps, nozzles, fittings, fans, control devices, and portable misting systems, made with top-quality materials and rigorous quality control.

  • The company provides project design services and customizable automation systems using PLC and HMI supervision for efficient and safe installations worldwide.Misting nozzles are specialized devices designed to disperse fine mist or water droplets into the air, creating a cooling or humidifying effect. These nozzles are widely used in various industries and settings due to their versatility and efficiency. In this article, we will explore how these important devices work and examine their key applications, including outdoor cooling, humidification, dust and odor control, and scenic effects.
  • How Misting Nozzles Work

The basic principle behind misting nozzles is the dispersion of water into fine droplets, creating a mist. This is typically achieved through high-pressure pumps or specialized low-pressure designs. There are two main types of misting nozzles: high-pressure nozzles and low-pressure nozzles.

    • High-pressure nozzles operate at pressures of 1000 psi or higher, which forces water through tiny orifices, creating a fine mist. These systems are often used for outdoor cooling and humidity control.
    • Low-pressure nozzles typically operate at 70 to 100 psi and are used in more localized or indoor applications, such as humidification systems in greenhouses.

The water droplets released by these nozzles evaporate quickly in the air, absorbing heat and cooling the surrounding environment. This process, known as evaporative cooling, can lower temperatures significantly, especially in dry, hot climates.

   Holding Pen Soaking

Soaking the cows in the holding pen is one of the most cost effective things that you can do on your dairy. High producing dairy cows create a lot of body heat that must be eliminated. When cows are crowded together in the holding pen, the problem escalates quickly.

A fully automated system provides relief any time the temperature warrants it, and eliminates the guess-work of manually-operated systems.

Feed Line Soaking

Soaking the cows at the feed line allows them to have access to cooling throughout the day and encourages maximum dry matter intake. Cows stay healthy, productive and profitable!

The C-440S Controller allows you to cool 4 zones in sequence to reduce demands on your water supply system. Smart Mode technology automatically adjusts the cooling cycles as the conditions change throughout the day or season.

Exit Lane Soaking

Soaking the cows as they exit the parlor or as they travel between barns keeps them cool and comfortable at all times and sends them back to the feed and water refreshed and ready to eat.

Cool SenseTM by Edstrom is a fully automated system that utilizes dual motion sensors to determine when a cow is walking beneath it. Eliminate wasted water while still soaking each cow at the most opportune time!
